The History of Nielsen Enterprises
Whether it's snow, water, road or dirt, Nielsen Enterprises's has a ride for every rider!
Nielsen Enterprises began as a dream of Ted Nielsen while working on his snowmobile in his garage. From a love of snowmobiles and motorcycles, evolved a multi-line dealership that is known for being the largest in the Midwest. Not long after the dream had been forged, Ted set out to pursue that dream. He started by purchasing what was formerly a gas station and opened Nielsen Enterprises with Arctic Cat® snowmobiles being his first product line.
As word spread of great service and low pricing, Ted out grew his first store and relocated one mile down the road to our current location. Over the years, our customer base and product lines grew allowing us to grow from a single line dealer to carrying snowmobiles, motorcycles, PWC, jet boats, ATVs and UTVs. Not only did our product lines grow, but so did our manufacturers. We compete every year for top dealer for Arctic Cat®, Honda®, Kawasaki, Polaris®, BRP, Suzuki, and Yamaha. With all of these under one roof, we had to add a few more square feet to accommodate everything. Today, we have our original store ("The North Building"), and additional building on the same property ("The South Building") and our new Marine Center devoted solely to PWC and jet boats!
Our North Building is dedicated to parts, service, clothing and anything on two wheels. Walking into our north showroom you will find motorcycle specialists who are dedicated to helping our customers find the machine that is right for them. With a plethora of products available, it is easy to be overwhelmed by all the choices. But with our salesmen's product knowledge and experience, your next purchase will be the easiest ever!
Parts and service work hand in hand to make sure we have parts available to put our customers back on the water, trail, or road. Our parts department is not only there to help when toys are not working, but with helping our customers make sure they receive optimal performance from their toys. From studs to pipe kits, they can help you get exactly what you need. With walls filled with chrome accents, mufflers, tie-downs, and tires our parts specialists can help our customers customize their toys and make them their own.
Our service department is known for their ability to diagnose any problem that is brought to them. No matter how major or minor the issue, they will find a solution. Part of our service team is the builders. We have three full time builders whose only job is building product; allowing customers to take their new toys home sooner than any other dealership. The best part about having our own build team is that we always know who built our units instead some unknown third party assembler. With over 167 combined years of experience, there is nothing that our service department cannot handle. Our customers know that we're only a phone call away to answer problems that occur anywhere.
Along with having a fashionable toy that catches everyone's eye, our accessory department dresses our customers from head to toe. Their goal is not only for our customers to be fashionable, but safe too! With 4,000 square feet dedicated to helmets, glasses of all types, jerseys, pants, and boots, we have it covered for all seasons. When it's cold, Nielsen Enterprises is the first place to stop with more clothing and accessories than any dealer around, including major brands such as Arctic Cat®, Ski-Doo, Polaris®, Yamaha, Castle, 509, Klim and FXR. But not to ignore our two wheeled friends, our customers will find a full stock of jackets, gloves, chest protectors, and boots from those wonderful brands and even more like Joe Rocket and Icon. And for our customers that love to play in the dirt, we carry the full line of AlpineStars' boots along with Fox, Shift, Fly Racing and 100% riding gear.
Our south building is dedicated to family fun on anything with four wheels or a track. Year-round, we are stocked to the brim with snowmobiles, ATVs and UTVs. Starting in 2015, Nielsen Enterprises was proud to be one of the first dealers to carry Polaris®' Slingshots. But this is tradition: We were one of the 1st Sea-Doo dealers in the country and the 1st Yamaha PWC dealer in the state of Illinois.
Beginning in 2013, we opened our Marine Center. Our idea was to fully commit ourselves to watersports. Not to say we weren't committed before. Merely that now, we have a fully functional marine location devoted solely to our PWC and Yamaha Jet boats just a mile north of our flagship store. At this location, we have a massive showroom, full service department and indoor delivery bay.
