2006 Japan Snocross Championship

The 2006 All-Japan Snowmobile Championship series is made up of five races with racers competing on all major-brand sleds.
April 4, 2006

Japan - The Yamaha team is made up of last year’s All-Japan champion, Yuji Nakazawa, and Shinji Tozawa. Their 2006 season goals: (1) win the premier class of the All-Japan Championships with a four stroke machine; (2) develop sleds with the potential to compete successfully in international snowmobile races in North America and other markets.

The team showed the strength of their Yamaha four-strokes in round one with strong results. In round two, Yuji Nakazawa demonstrated the four-stroke Yamaha Nytro's superiority over the competition by streaking to 1-1 finishes.

In round three Nakazawa continued with good results to take the lead in the standings. Nakazawa scored his third consecutive 1-1 finish in Round 4. The wins put him within reach of the championship.

Yuji Nakazawa drove his Nytro to win the All-Japan Sno-Cross Championship. The title win was unprecedented for a four-stroke machine. Yamaha snowmobiles claimed five of the top seven championship positions.
